ZICTA gets teens into ICT
The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority, ZICTA, is launching ICT clubs at high schools around the country as part of its efforts to enhance ICT skills.

launching ICT clubs at high schools around the country as part of its
efforts to enhance ICT skills.
ZICTA says the clubs will be aimed
at encouraging electronic communication on social networks too – both
for social and learning purposes.
They will also create a platform for pupils from different schools to interact and share knowledge.
The ZICTA pilot project has identified schools in Lusaka, Copperbelt and Southern Provinces to start the clubs.
Mary
Queen of Peace, Munali Boys, Kabulonga Girls and David Kaunda will be
the steering schools in Lusaka and Ndola Technical High school for
Girls, Kansenshi, and Chifubu Secondary schools have been earmarked for
pilot projects in the Copperbelt province. Hilcrest Technical High, St.
Mary’s and Linda Secondary are the schools tagged to launch clubs first
in Southern Province.
ZICTA Director General Margaret
Chalwe-Mudenda noted that ICT developments provide children and young
people with unparallel opportunities to explore new frontiers and meet
people from faraway places.
