19.02.2008 La Svizzera lo scorso anno ha esportato armi e materiale bellico per complessivi 464,5 milioni di franchi (oltre 290 milioni di euro) con un aumento del 16,8% rispetto al 2006. Se i cinque principali clienti sono sono stati la Germania (62 milioni di franchi), l'Irlanda (51 milioni), gli Stati Uniti, la Danimarca (42 milioni di franchi ciascuno), e la Gran Bretagna (40 milioni) al sesto posto vi è il Pakistan al quale sono stati forniti sei sistemi di difesa antiaerea per un importo di 38 milioni di franchi. Ma lo scorso novembre il Consiglio federale ha sospeso le autorizzazioni di esportazione e ogni ulteriore consegna di materiale bellico al Pakistan. Una richiesta di sospensione delle forniture al Pakistan era stata avanzata lo scorso novembre anche in Italia dalla Rete Disarmo, ma non è stata resa nota alcuna decisione da parte del Governo italiano.
