14.12.2006 Botswanan korkein oikeus päätti keskiviikkona, että maan alkuperäiskansalla saneilla eli bushmaneilla on oikeus asua, metsästää ja harjoittaa keräilyä perinteisillä maillaan. Heidät häädettiin alueelta, kun sinne saapui timanttikaivosyhtiöitä. Korkeimman oikeuden mukaan hallituksen ei kuitenkaan tarvitse tarjota saneille peruspalveluja näillä asuinalueilla.

Boscimani nella riserva del Kalahari
13.12.2006 Manifestazioni di giubilo davanti alla sede dell'Alta Corte del Botswana che oggi ha emesso un verdetto storico a favore dei Boscimani del Kalahari. I giudici hanno stabilito che lo sfratto dei Boscimani è stato "illegale e anticostituzionale" e che hanno il diritto di ritornare a vivere nella loro terra - riporta Survival che da tempo sostiene la loro causa. La corte ha anche decretato che i Boscimani che hanno intentato causa hanno il diritto di cacciare e raccogliere liberamente nella riserva, senza dover chiedere il permesso di entrarvi. "È il giorno più bello della nostra vita" - ha dichiarato il portavoce dei Boscimani Roy Sesana davanti al tribunale". Intanto sempre i Boscimani del Kalahari hanno rinnovato il loro appello disperato a Leonardo Di Caprio, protagonista del film "The Blood Diamond", per chiedere di sostenere la loro causa e fermare le compagnie diamantifere che hanno iniziato le esplorazioni sul loro territorio. Il sostegno del gioiellere italiano milanese Francesco Belloni.
