Sijoittajakokouksen järjestämisestä päättivät maiden presidentit, Namibian Hifikepunye Pohamba ja Etelä-Afrikan Thabo Mbeki. Maat tiivistivät vastikään yhteistyötään useilla kaupan aloilla.

29.11.2006 Translate.org.za wins African ICT Achiever 2006 Award for its efforts in bridging the digital divide in Africa. The organisation has done the translation of computer software into 11 official languages of South Africa by using a local translator and creating the first South African keyboard.

Avustus ohjataan Malawiin ja Etelä-Afrikkaan, joiden tartuntatilanne on erittäin huolestuttava. Suomen Punaisen Ristin tekemä lahjoitus tulee osaksi laajaa, koko eteläisen Afrikan kattavaa kansainvälisen Punaisen Ristin hiv-ohjelmaa.
