31.08.2006 Välimeren miekkakaloista on löytynyt bromattuja palonestoaineita. Afrikan unionin sotilaita Darfurissa
28.08.2006 Sudanin hallitus on viime viikkoina vahvistanut joukkojaan konfliktin runtelemassa Darfurin maakunnassa. Asetelma saattaa johtaa vakavaan ihmisoikeuskatastrofiin aivan lähitulevaisuudessa, ihmisoikeusjärjestö Amnesty International varoittaa.

25.08.2006 Darfurin turvallisuustilanne on entistä epävakaampi, raportoi konfliktinratkaisuun keskittyvä IRC-organisaatio. Alueen suurimman pakolaisleirin ympärillä on seksuaalisen väkivallan kohteeksi joutunut yli kaksisataa naista vain viimeisen viiden viikon aikana. Alueella partioiville Afrikan unionin joukoille tulisi välittömästi antaa keinot siviiliväestön puolustamiseen, painottaa ICR.

L'Associazione per i Popoli Minacciati chiede il risarcimento per le vittime alla ditta tedesca Lahmeyer International.
