Ecco la risposta del Ministro dell'Interno Pisanu sulle denuncie di abusi nel centro di Lampedusa dopo l'inchiesta del giornalista dell'Espresso. Il commissario europeo Franco Frattini, ha aggiunto che ''per paradosso, forse ne occorrerebbero di piu', perche' i clandestini sono troppi''. Spostandosi al confine tra Spagna e Marocco e precisamente nelle due 'enclave' spagnole di Ceuta e Melilla, risuonano le denuncie di Medici Senza Frontiere per le violenze che hanno subito i migranti che poi sono stati abbandonati nel deserto. Zapatero dichiara che il suo Paese ha "fatto di tutto" perché il Marocco collaborasse nel respingere i clandestini nel rispetto dei diritti umani. Nessuna reazione è arrivata dai ministeri dei paesi africani di provenienza dei migranti che sono stati maltrattati. E una missione di Amnesty International e' giunta ai confini con Algeria e Mauritania per verificare le condizioni degli espulsi.

07.10.2005 Medici Senza Frontiere ha localizzato questa notte un gruppo di oltre 500 immigrati di origine sub-sahariana abbandonati al proprio destino in una zona desertica situata nel sud del Marocco. Secondo le testimonianze raccolte, la polizia marocchina ha condotto il gruppo di stranieri fino a questa zona, a bordo di autobus e camion. Poche ore prima la Guardia Civil spagnola aveva espulso gli immigrati da Ceuta e Melilla. L'area si trova a 600 chilometri a sud della città di Oujda. MSF ha già assistito oltre 50 immigrati che presentano ferite e contusioni dovute al tentativo di massa di scavalcare le recinzioni di Ceuta e Melilla. Il trasferimento di immigrati, operato dalla Spagna e dal Marocco, verso un paese che non ha la minima capacità di accoglienza per garantire i diritti base delle persone viola l'articolo 3 della Convenzione contro la tortura e altre pene, o trattamenti crudeli, inumani o degradanti.

04.10.2005 Le notizie di nuovi scontri e di attacchi da parte dei Janjaweed, in cui secondo l’Unione Africana (Ua) hanno preso parte anche forze governative, avrebbero portato una delle due correnti del principale gruppo ribelle attivo in Darfur (Slm) a lasciare il tavolo dei negoziati in corso da metà settembre ad Abuja - informa l'agenzia Misna. Dopo aver definito “irrilevanti” i colloqui, e aver precisato che non hanno alcuna ripercussione sul terreno, la fazione dell’Esercito di liberazione del Sudan (Slm) che fa capo a Minni Arcua Minnawi ha richiamato i suoi “fare ritorno nei territori liberati e lasciare i negoziati”. I colloqui organizzati dall’Ua ad Abuja, in Nigeria, in realtà non erano mai realmente decollati, a causa degli scontri e delle violenze riprese proprio alla vigilia della sesta sessione del negoziato. Un ostacolo ai colloqui è venuto anche dalle accuse di pregiudizio contro il Chad dal JEM (Justice and Equality Movement), uno dei due gruppi ribelli al tavolo di Abuja, che per due mesi ha accusato il Chad di essere il "guastatore della pace".

Raportin mukaan maastamuuttajat kohtaavat väkivaltaa sekä Marokon että Espanjan viranomaisten että rikollisjengien taholta.
