28.09.2005 A Nairobi, nella parte benestante della capitale dove sono situate le ambasciate e vivono i rappresentanti del governo, lo scorso 23 settembre c’è stata la demolizione della baraccopoli di Deep Sea. Alle ore 24,30 un camion pieno di soldati della Regional Administration e di uomini assoldati per l'occasione, sono entrati nello slum di Deep Sea (850 famiglie) seguiti da un rumoroso Caterpillar. "Fuori tutti dalle case - hanno gridato - incomincia la demolizione...". “Questo e' un grande atto di coruzzione e i responsabili e gli chief devono rimanere fuori da questo pezzo di terra. Anche se e' avvenuta una vendita sara' annullato il title deed (certificato di proprieta') per non aver rispettato le leggi del paese e il diritto della gente” ha scritto padre Cellana nella sua lettera sulle demolizioni nello slum di Deep Sea. Sulla situazione abitativa a Nairobi sta facendo pressioni la campagna "W Nairobi W!" che chiede la conversione del debito estero del Kenya in nuove politiche abitative.

Sudan's Former Rebel Leader and First Vice President, the Late John Garang
23.09.2005 Before his death in August, Sudan's first Vice President John Garang issued an ultimatum that come November, Northern Uganda's rebels operating out of southern Sudan would face military action if they failed to disband. With Garang out of the picture, the rebels continue to be active, killing 17 in one recent attack.

19.09.2005 Maailman elintarvikeohjelman (WFP) aluksen kaapanneet suostuvat viimein vapauttamaan 850 tonnin ruokalastin liki kolmen kuukauden panttauksen jälkeen. Ruoka-apu oli tarkoitettu tsunamivahingoista kärsineen Somalian itärannikon asukkaille. Neuvottelujen tuloksena päästiin yhteisymmärrykseen apupaketin jakamisesta Somalian "hylättyyn" keskiosaan.
