23.05.2007 Chagos Island families this morning secured another legal victory over the British government in their long-running struggle to be allowed to return to the Indian Ocean home from which they were evicted 40 years ago to make way for a US nuclear base. The government will almost certainly appeal, since consecutive British administrations, acting in lockstep with Washington, have shown their determination not to give an inch, whatever the courts say.
