The UK government has made much of its green credentials, boasting that it leads the world in tackling climate change. So what does it do? Give the green light to a new generation of nuclear power stations that will cost billions, eventually deliver only tiny cuts in carbon emissions and leave future generations with a legacy of nuclear waste to clean up.
