Nel marzo 2006, a Diyarbakir, nella Turchia orientale, una serie di manifestazioni contro il governo terminò con un’ondata di arresti: un terzo degli arrestati, bambini inclusi, furono sottoposti a maltrattamenti e torture, ma a distanza di oltre un anno non vi è stata alcuna incriminazione nei confronti delle forze di sicurezza.
