L'iniziativa è stata annunciata con l'arrivo a Port Moresby della nave ammiraglia di Greenpeace, la Rainbow Warrior, che ha ricevuto un benvenuto tradizionale da parte dei gruppi tribali e dei proprietari terrieri. "E' l'occasione per mostrare al mondo le iniziative di taglio sostenibile". Volontari di Greenpeace da tutto il mondo vivranno e lavoreranno insieme ai proprietari delle terre e aiuteraano le tre tribù a far valere i loro diritti sui circa 300.000 ettari di terra che appartengono a loro da sempre.
