A high-level UN human rights team today accused the Sudanese government of orchestrating and participating in "large-scale international crimes" in Darfur. But the conflict is also affecting Chad and the Central African Republic. Gérard Prunier says that although all three countries have agreed to respect each other’s territorial integrity, the diplomatic activity conceals an international political deadlock over potential oil wealth.

Kongon demokraattisen tasavallan sunnuntaiset vaalit sujuivat rauhallisesti. Ainakin osasyynä tähän on Sudanin Darfurin alueen tilanteen heijastuminen naapurimaihin.
