22.05.2007 The Transparency International Croatia presented the results of its public opinion survey on financing of election campaigns. The survey was conducted by “Promocija Plus” Agency, on May 2-3, on a representative sample of 1,300 persons, under the auspices of the “Preventing Political Corruption” project.

21.05.2007 World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz will resign on June 30. Critics see his removal as a reluctant damage control exercise by the bank. Wolfowitz’s recent drive toward good governance has been panned as a PR scheme to restore credibility after years of support to corrupt regimes and unsuccessful neo-liberal policies.

18.05.2007 Members of Albanian Parliament have flagrantly violated 10 articles of the Parliamentary Book of Regulations and Procedures (articles 7, 25, 34, 45, 55, 57, 62, 65, 67 and 77). These violations include a wide array of infractions, ranging from physical altercations between the deputies, for which the Speaker of the Parliament failed to penalize the transgressors, to deputies present during Parliamentary meetings casting votes on behalf of their absent colleagues, both during plenary sessions and committee meetings.

09.05.2007 Povodom 3 maja, Svjetskog dana slobode medija, Misija OSCE-a u Bosni i Hercegovini naglasila je važnost zaštite slobode izražavanja u demokratskom društvu. Misija je također ponovno iznijela razloge za zabrinutost povodom postupaka čiji je cilj ograničavanje ove slobode, što se naročito odnosi na emitiranje Javnog RTV servisa Bosne i Hercegovine.

03.05.2007 Povodom Gandža marša, koji je najavljen za 5. maj na beogradskom Trgu republike, srpski ekstremni desničari najavili su kontra-marš i obračun sa učesnicima skupa za ukidanje prihibicije marihuane. Na ulicama Beograda u subotu bi mogle da se ponove scene nasilja iz 2001, kada su ekstremni desničari pretukli učesnike prve, i do sada jedine, beogradske gej-parade.
