The documentation is an important contribution to the development of Save the Children's understanding of the immediate living environment on the protection and care of children in emergencies.

Derfu on yksi yhdysvaltalaisen professori Jeffrey Sachsin käynnistämän vuosituhatkylähankkeen tutkimuskylistä. Vuosituhathanke käynnistyi Dertussa yhdeksän kuukautta sitten. Sinä aikana Dertun kylä on ottanut edistysaskeleita. Terveydenhuolto on kohentunut, hyttysverkot ovat vähentäneet malaria-tapauksia ja kyläläiset ovat oppineet kasvattamaan ja varastoimaan heinää.

Dr. Rajendra Pachauri, Chairman of the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the head of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) was interviewed by Sanctuary Asia, on climate change. He discussed on how this could affect India and suggests steps to adapt to and mitigate climate threats.

International child rights agency, Save the Children has conducted a study to understand minimum standards for the provision of education in Andhra Pradesh, India. The study discovered the problems in the implementation of necessary components as, physical infrastructure, learning process, and community role in effective delivery of quality education.
