The Foundation Open Society Institute Macedonian (FOSIM) and the Ministry of the Interior signed an agreement for cooperation, which obligates FOSIM to supply technical assistance of total value of 40,000 EUR to the Ministry.

George W. Bush proposes to deal with climate change by means of smoke and mirrors. So what's new? Only that it is no longer just a metaphor. After six years of obfuscation and denial, the United States now insists that we find ways to block some of the sunlight reaching the earth. This means launching either mirrors or clouds of small particles into the atmosphere.

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 24 (OneWorld) - At least 186 antiwar protests in the United States have been monitored by the Pentagon's domestic surveillance program, according to documents obtained by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which also found that the Defense Department collected more than 2,800 reports involving Americans in a single anti-terrorism database.

Provoked by the recent events surrounding the removal of Jadranka Cigelj from the position of the head of the Associations’ Bureau, the security checks on the members of the Civil Society Development Council and the mutual blame-game between Cigelj and the Vice-President of the Government, 15 Croatian NGOs wrote and open letter to the Government.

Vezano uz nedavne događaje oko smjene predstojnice Ureda za udruge Jadranke Cigelj, sigurnosne provjere članova Savjeta za razvoj civilnog društva te međusobna optuživanja smjenjene predstojnice i potpredsjednice Vlade, danas je petnaest nevladinih organizacija Vladi uputilo otvoreno pismo. U pismu se od Vlade među ostalim zahtijeva ustanovljavanje odgovornosti za protuzakonite provjere i uspostavu jasne procedure za sve buduće slučajeve.

Jučer, 18. 1. 2007, je na manifestaciji "Dani udruga" koju je organizirao Vladin ured za udruge, održan prosvjed predstavnika 15 nevladinih organizacija. Povod prosvjeda bila je činjenica da Savjet za razvoj civilnog društva, izabran prije više od šest mjeseci, još uvijek nije konstituiran te da je nad njegovim članovima - predstavnicima udruga - izvršena protuzakonita sigurnosna provjera od strane Sigurnosno-obavještajne agencije. Udruge su od Vlade zatražile smjenu Jadranke Cigelj, predstojnice Ureda za udruge, kao ključne odgovorne osobe, a Vlada je nakon samo nekoliko sati tom zahtjevu udovoljila i smjenila Predstojnicu.
