Ben 90 bombe atomiche presenti nelle basi di Aviano e Ghedi Torre per una potenza 900 volte superiore alla bomba sganciata nel 1945 su Hiroshima: č la denuncia fatta oggi a Roma dall'associazione Beati i construttori di pace e dal comitato Via le bombe dall'Italia. Per rilanciare il tema del disarmo nucleare e discutere dell'accordo Nato di condivisione nucleare tra Italia e Stati Uniti dal 6 al 9 agosto si terrą ad l'iniziativa "Via le atomiche". Inizierą domenica 6 agosto davanti alla base Usaf con una cerimonia in ricordo di Hiroshima e proseguirą lunedi con il convegno a Pordenone dedicato alle atomiche in Italia. Un appello promosso da numerosi esponenti della societą civile invita tutte le associazioni ad attivarsi per limmediata applicazione del Trattato di non proliferazione, per contestare la presenza delle atomiche Usa nelle basi militari e nei porti italiani, per contrapporre al concetto strategico della Nato la trasformazione degli armamenti da offensivi a strettamente difensivi in direzione della Difesa Civile non armata e nonviolenta e allobiezione di coscienza degli scienziati coinvolti nelle ricerche militari.

El Grupo de los Siete y aśn el de los Ocho pierde totalmente su rol hegemónico. No hay ninguna posibilidad de generar un verdadero centro de decisiones significativas en el plano internacional si no se incluye a China, India, Brasil y también a Įfrica del Sur en este bloque de articulación mundial.

The European Commission published the mandates for negotiations on visa regime alleviation and readmission agreements with Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The mandates provide for much simpler and quicker procedure, as well as issuance of multiple entry visas covering longer periods of time for students, researchers, artists and business-people, for travel into the EU.

Six rounds into the talks on Kosovos future in Vienna, it seems that children and children rights issues were not and are not likely to be put onto the agenda of the Kosovo Status Talks. Save the Children reminds and urges the international community not to neglect children and education during the negotiations.

The pro-EU integration opinion among B&H citizens remains high, shows the survey conducted by GFK Market Research Centre from Sarajevo. According to the survey, 83% of the citizens would vote for it, if a referendum on EU integration were held today, with only nine percent against it. The support is greater in B&H Federation and Brcko District (85%) than in RS (75%).

Sarebbe di poco meno di mezzo miliardo di euro il totale dei finanziamenti stanziati dal Governo per le missioni italiane all'estero nel secondo semestre del 2006 secondo il disegno di legge che dovrebbe approdare in Aula a Montecitorio il 17 luglio. Obiettivo principale la proroga delle operazioni militari, ma anche di cooperazione e di tutela del patrimonio culturale. Fra i capitoli dei provvedimenti al centro del confronto nelle commissioni Esteri e Difesa della Camera, quello legato al raddoppio dei finanziamenti per Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan e la conferma del codice penale di guerra sia a Kabul sia a Baghdad - riporta l'agenzia Ansa. E la presenza militare in Afghanistan potrebbe aumentare nei prossimi mesi di alcune centinaia di unitą, come emerge da un confronto tra la copertura finanziaria contenuta nel decreto legge varato la scorsa settimana dal governo e i finanziamenti passati - segnala l'agenzia Reuters.
