Amnesty International Hrvatske jučer je na konferenciji za novinare u Zagrebu predstavio svoj redovni godinji zvjetaj Stanje ljudskih prava u svijetu za 2005. godinu koji na vie od 300 stranica obuhvaća 150 drava . Vezano uz stanje u Hrvatskoj tajnik Ureda AIH Edin Tuzlak posebno je upozorio na tri problematična područja: procesuiranje za ratne zločine; bilateralni sporazum Hrvatske i SAD o neizručivanju američkih dravljana stalnom Međunarodnom kaznennom sudu; te tajna slijetanja CIA-inih aviona sa osumnjičenicima za terorizam na hrvatski teritorij.

The working group on Chapter 27: Environment, which is part of the Croatian negotiation team for accession to the EU is close to completing the bilateral indepth screening. The process, taking place in Brussels, started on May 15, 2006. The topic of this session related to approximation and transfer of EU environmental directives into Croatian national legislation. RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, May 8 (ENS) - Brazil has inaugurated its first uranium enrichment facility to produce the type of fuel for nuclear power plants that Iran is running into trouble for attempting to produce. There are strong suspicions that the objective of the Iranian nuclear program is to eventually build a bomb, but Brazil has managed to assure the international community its intentions are industrial and commercial, not military.

Il Segretario di Stato Condoleezza Rice e il ministro degli Esteri bulgaro Ivaylo Kalfin hanno firmato un accordo di cooperazione militare durante l'incontro informale dei ministri degli Esteri dei paesi aderenti alla Nato, tenutosi a Sofia il 28 aprile scorso. L'accordo riguarda il dispiegamento di forze militari americane in tre basi che si trovano sul territorio bulgaro: le aviobasi di Bezmer (nei pressi di Yambol, nella Bulgaria sud-orientale), Graf Ignatievo (a pochi chilometri da Plovdiv) e il poligono di Novo Selo (vicino a Sliven), oltre ai depositi militari che si trovano a Aitos, non lontano dalla cittą portuale di Burgas. Per la prima volta nella sua storia truppe straniere saranno dispiegate stabilmente in Bulgaria. L'accordo prevede l'uso congiunto delle basi ed ha durata di dieci anni. Ogni sei mesi, a rotazione, verrą ospitato un contingente di militari americani di 2500 unitą, a partire dal 2007 o dal 2008. Gli Usa non pagheranno nessun affitto per l'uso delle basi, ma dovranno sostenere le spese operative e di manutenzione - riporta Tanya Mangalakova per l'Osservatorio sui Balcani. Il partito nazionalista Ataka ha dimostrato in piazza il suo forte scetticismo verso la presenza di truppe americane nel paese.

Aunque los gobiernos de centro e izquierda en Latinoamérica (Brasil, Chile, Argentina, Cuba, Uruguay, Venezuela y Bolivia) imprimen dinįmicas de cambio, Centroamérica mira hacia el norte (Estados Unidos) y se mantiene aparentemente al margen de esas tendencias.
