29.02.2008 Domani, 1° marzo, Locri sarà il teatro di una manifestazione della società civile e dei movimenti. Dopo il trasferimento di mons. Bregantini in Molise molti avevano temuto per le sorti dell'impegno civile contro la criminalità organizzata e le massonerie deviate. L'onda emotiva di solidarietà per non lasciare soli i ragazzi di Locri e le cooperative antimafia, è stata enorme. Un appello, rilanciato da associazioni e organi di stampa nazionale, ha ricevuto in breve tempo migliaia di adesioni. Da qui è partita l'Allenza per la Locride, che domani si ritroverà in piazza. Tantissime le associazioni e i movimenti che hanno già assicurato la loro presenza.

27.02.2008 At least five Nepali gays will contest elections for the Constituent Assembly, scheduled to be held this April, to take up the issue of discrimination against their community. In a nation that treats homosexuality as illegal and immoral, this is an attempt to fight exclusion.

25.02.2008 Martedì 26 febbraio a Bologna verrà presentata "Ritmi", la Rete italiana di microfinanza che si propone l'obiettivo di “Rendere bancabili i non bancabili”. Associazione senza fini di lucro, Ritmi opererà a livello nazionale e sarà la voce di tutti gli operatori italiani della microfinanza. "L’esclusione dall’accesso al credito è infatti riconosciuta come uno degli ostacoli principali allo sviluppo umano e alla riduzione della povertà" - sostengono le istituzioni di microcredito e microfinanza operanti a livello internazionale che promuovono l'iniziativa. In Italia, secondo l’ultima stima della Banca Mondiale, il tasso d’esclusione dal credito e da servizi finanziari sostenibili, arriva al 25% della popolazione, una delle quote più elevate dell’Unione Europea.
