Last Friday, April 13, approximately 50,000 Albanians responded to the Prime Minister’s attacks on the media through a peaceful manifestation in “Skenderbej Square”, thereby marking the largest manifestation ever witnessed in Albania since the rise of the pluralist system. This manifestation was not coordinated by political parties; rather, it was jointly organized by civil society and the media.

WASHINGTON, Apr 17 (OneWorld) - Dubbing the battle against climate change a moral test for the United States, global anti-poverty and religious leaders called on U.S. politicians Monday to take drastic and immediate action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in order to minimize the country's contributions to global warming.

La 'Campagna per la riforma della Banca mondiale' (CRBM) appoggia la richiesta di dimissioni del Presidente Paul Wolfowitz formulata dall’organizzazione dei dipendenti della Banca mondiale, "auspicando che, qualora l’ex sottosegretario alla Difesa Usa non se ne vada di sua spontanea volontà, a risolvere la questione ci pensi il board dell’istituzione che si riunirà sabato". Ieri Wolfowitz ha ammesso di aver favorito la sua compagna Shaha Riza, che nel giro di pochi mesi con il trasferimento al Dipartimento di Stato si è vista aumentare lo stipendio da 132.000 dollari, a 193.000 dollari, più di quanto prende il segretario di Stato Condoleezza Rice. Il CdA della World Bank ha aggiornato la riunione per valutare il caso.
