Miehet tuomittiin Dujailissa vuonna 1982 siviileihin kohdistuneista rikoksista. "Vastustan kuolemanrangaistusta kaikissa olosuhteissa," Arbour sanoo ja lisää, että toimeenpannut tuomiot voivat vaikeuttaa puolueettoman oikeusprosessin toteutumista vastaavissa tapauksissa myös tulevaisuudessa.

15.01.2007 Viime vuonna useille mantereille hajaantunut Maailman sosiaalifoorumi (WSF) kokoontuu jälleen "saman katon alle". Kansalaisyhteiskunta etsii yhteistä säveltä nyt Afrikassa, sillä kokous pidetään Kenian pääkaupungissa Nairobissa 20.-25. tammikuuta. Kokoontumiseen odotetaan jopa 150 000:ta henkeä noin sadasta maasta.
