29.06.2007 A recent study by a consultancy firm in India notes a drop in English language online browsing to 41% among its 30 million net users. More than half the Indians who use the net live outside its metropolitan cities, in Tier II and Tier III cities. The use of Open Source Software has helped internet and telecom penetration into smaller towns.

22.06.2007 Folksonomy, blogosphere, blog, netiquette, blook, webinar, vlog, social networking, cookie, wiki, podcast, avatar, and user-generated content are the most annoying web terms, according to a poll published by research outfit YouGov.
And I am taking the opportunity as a OneWorld editor to throw in my own current pet dislike - not of a web term, but of a word currently in vogue by politicians and pundits: passionate. An opinion is no longer enough: it has to be "a passionately held belief".

Soon all sorts of government information that comes under the purview of the RTI Act will be put up on the worldwide web to extend the scope of e-governance.
