25.06.2007 Credit Suisse, Barclays, Fortis Group, Merrill Lynch & Co. e Natixis avrebbero finanziato con centinaia di milioni di euro un gruppo di compagnie responsabili di un grave inquinamento ambientale in Indonesia. E' la denuncia di due rapporti di Friends of the Earth International/Europe, resi pubblici in Italia dalla CRBM. Un flusso di sostanze tossiche sta fuoriuscendo dal terreno di Sidoarjo dal maggio 2006 a seguito delle operazioni di trivellazione della Lapindo Brantas Inc. Nonostante il governo indonesiano abbia ordinato alla Lapindo di pagare compensazioni per una cifra che ammonta a circa 435 milioni di dollari, la compagnia starebbe cercando di eludere le proprie responsabilità. Friends of the Earth ha alle banche sopraccitate di ritirare ogni tipo di sostegno finanziario alla Lapindo finché la compagnia non abbia pagato i risarcimenti.

25.06.2007 Gugatan balik Newmont dan ESDM terhadap Walhi soal kasus Teluk Buyat tampaknya tidak menyurutkan organisasi ini untuk tetap kristis terhadap aktivitas pertambangan yang seringkali membahayakan lingkungan hidup. Walhi memang sering menerima gugatan bahkan teror.
