I missionari propongono di distinguere tra "agrocarburanti" e "biocarburanti", i due nomi dati ai carburanti prodotti dalla trasformazione di materiale vegetale vivente. Aefjn è a favore e mantiene il nome "biocarburanti" solo per i prodotti veramente sostenibili dalla produzione al consumo senza generare effetti negativi sull'ambiente e sulla società.
