Norja aikoo maailman ensimmäiseksi hiilineutraaliksi maaksi vuoteen 2050 mennessä. Norja aikoo tiukentaa myös Kioton sopimuksen ensimmäisen kauden tavoitteitaan. Maa on sitoutunut 30 prosentin päästövähennksiin vuoteen 2020 mennessä, kun EU-maat tavoittelevat 20 prosentin vähennystä samassa ajassa.

Kolkata-based NGO, Center for Social Market (CSM) is initiating a series of seminars - Climate Conversation - on Climate Change in the Indian cities of Kochi and Kolkatta in June 2007. The organisation feels the need for the civil society organisations to interact with policymakers to raise awareness on climate change and security issues.

"Se l’efficienza energetica fosse una realtà in Italia, le famiglie potrebbero risparmiare oltre il 30% dell’energia, contribuendo sensibilmente alla riduzione dei gas serra" - commenta il WWF il rapporto ENEA “Energia e Ambiente” presentato oggi a Roma. Il rapporto propone per il 2020 una riduzione del 57% di anidride carbonica grazie agli interventi di efficienza energetica. "Per ridurre le emissioni e diminuire anche la dipendenza dalle importazioni di fonti fossili, l’Italia deve puntare su risparmio, efficienza e fonti rinnovabili. Puntare su un aumento dell’uso del carbone, la fonte fossile che genera le più alte emissioni specifiche di CO2, è invece assolutamente incoerente e anacronistico" - nota Legambiente.

At its session of April 4, 2007, the Government of Croatia adopted the draft-Law on Confirmation of Kyoto Protocols to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. The draft was prepared by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Spatial Planning and Construction.
