22.02.2006 Il 16 febbraio 2006 il Parlamento europeo ha approvato una lunga serie di emendamenti alla proposta di direttiva relativa alla liberalizzazione dei servizi nel mercato interno alla Comunità Europea. Questo breve testo costituisce un aggiornamento di una precedente analisi della direttiva, con l’evidenza delle maggiori variazioni rispetto al testo originale. (...) Non è semplice rileggere la proposta di direttiva, vista l’elevata mole di modifiche apportate al testo. Spesso parti eliminate in alcuni articoli sono state riproposte in altre e viceversa, occorrerà attendere la riscrittura che farà la Commissione per una migliore valutazione. Si può però dire che sono due le modifiche “utili”: l’eliminazione del principio del paese d’origine e la possibilità di definire i servizi di interesse economico generale da parte dei singoli paesi membri che, se ben utilizzata, permetterà di proteggere quelli pubblici. Sterminio di foche in Canada - da LAV
19.02.2006 "Consideriamo demagogico assimilare lo sterminio di milioni di foche al nobile interesse della protezione dell’ambiente!". Questo il commento di Roberto Bennati, responsabile nazionale della LAV, alla dichiarazione rilasciata ieri dai vertici dell’AIP (Associazione Italiana Pellicceria) che commentava gli atti annunciati tre giorni fa dal Vice Ministro alle Attività produttive con delega al Commercio Estero, Adolfo Urso, contro l’import di pelli di foche. La LAV ricorda che il più grande sterminio di mammiferi marini sul pianeta è esclusivamente dovuto alla caccia commerciale per la produzione di pellicce, dal momento che la quota di cattura fissata con piani pluriennali dal Governo canadese è totalmente destinata a tale produzione, e non, come sostenuto dall’AIP, per salvaguardare la popolazione di merluzzi. Nei giorni scorsi l’Italia ha vietato l’importazione e la commercializzazione di pelli, pellicce e derivati di foca, un atto concreto contro la strage di oltre 300mila animali ogni anno.
