Energia eolica - da La nuova ecologia
26.01.2007 Greenpeace ha lanciato in tutto il mondo la prima "strategia globale" e dettagliata su come ristrutturare il sistema energetico mondiale. Si tratta di una vera "rivoluzione energetica": grazie alle rinnovabili e all'efficienza energetica sarà possibile tagliare le emissioni globali di CO2 di quasi il 50% nei prossimi 43 anni. "Un'impennata della produzione di energia pulita potrebbe soddisfare metà della domanda mondiale entro il 2050 se i governi usassero la mano pesante contro l'utilizzo dei combustibili fossili" - riporta un'inchiesta condotta dal Consiglio Europeo delle Energie Rinnovabili (Erec). "La rivoluzione energetica, oltre a salvare il clima del nostro pianeta, sarà determinante anche sul piano occupazionale: si prevede che solo dall'eolico arriveranno 2 milioni di nuovi posti di lavoro" - nota Greenpeace.

26.01.2007 WWF:n tänään julkaisema Virtaa tulevaisuuteen -malli osoittaa, että Suomessa voidaan vuoteen 2020 mennessä energiatehokkuudella ja uusiutuvalla energialla vähentää ja tuottaa sähköä määrä, joka vastaa 2,7 kertaa nyt rakennettavan ydinvoimalan tuotantoa. Samalla Suomi vähentää kasvihuonekaasupäästöjä noin 30 % vuoden 1990 tasosta eli yli EU-komission asettamien tavoitteiden.

Great to find a product that is new, different and actually available (in North America anyway). It's a 'Magnetically-Levitated Axial Flux Alternator Vertical Axis Wind Turbine' which really runs best on a rooftop. Impressive.

11.01.2007 L'Unione Europea nel Rapporto Energia chiede di tagliare i gas ad effetto serra del 20% entro il 2020 per fronteggiare i cambiamenti climatici. Ma l'Italia è ultima in Europa in tema di energie rinnovabili: dal 1997 ad oggi in Italia il contributo alle rinnovabili è diminuito dal 16% del 1997 al 15,3% di oggi, lontano dall'obiettivo nazionale del 25% di quota ottenuta da rinnovabili sul totale del consumo energetico. Nell'ambito del rapporto, la Commissione si è pronunciata anche sul nucleare con una posizione che gli ambientalisti considerano deludente: “Il nucleare rappresenta un investimento sbagliato e anacronistico e lasciare ai singoli stati la scelta di utilizzarlo o meno vuol dire già da ora rinunciare a una politica energetica comune” - commenta Legambiente. Oggi bliz dell'associazione davanti alla Reggia di Caserta dove si tiene il vertice di governo: "Chiediamo al governo di recuperare il ritardo sul fronte delle energie pulite".
