Centar za dječja prava Albanija CRCA uspjeno je ugostio prvu konferenciju Europskog programa o ilegalnoj trgovini djecom. ECPAT iz Nizozemske organizirao je treninge između 18-19 Oujka 2005. na kojem je učestvovalo vie od 3o predstavnika nevladinih organizacija iz zapadnoevropskih i istočnoevropskih zemalja.

The Marburg virus, a cousin of Ebola, is normally lethal in 30 percent of cases, but 96 of the 107 infected in the northern Angolan province of Uige since October have died, owing primarily to the area's dilapidated and underfunded health system. International teams are en route to help stem the epidemic, but with an incubation period of 21 days, sufferers could travel and spread the virus.

Imagine there was no running water in your home. Imagine having to walk several kilometres to a tap, well or river to collect water, and then carry it home. This is what millions of women and children do every day in developing countries sometimes more than once a day. They carry every drop of water they use for drinking, cooking, cleaning and bathing.

While much attention has been paid to several of President Bush's recent high-profile nominations, one that has been largely overlooked has been that of Ann Veneman, the former Secretary of Agriculture chosen to be the new head of UNICEF. Veneman's history has been characterized by "privileging private profit above the public good," says a global public health coalition calling for a rethinking of both the appointment and the appointment process.
