10.08.2007 La situazione in Iraq è drammatica: la rete elettrica è prossima al collasso, mentre un terzo della popolazione è in stato d’emergenza umanitaria e almeno due milioni di persone hanno cercato rifugio dalle violenze fuggendo all’estero, cioè due mila iracheni in fuga ogni giorno. Intanto il parlamento iracheno non è riuscito ad approvare la legge sul petrolio e sul gas prima della pausa estiva malgrado le forti pressioni di Washington. "Ma è tutt’altro che una cattiva notizia dato che nel Paese si fa sempre più forte e diffusa l’opposizione a quella che oramai in molti considerano una minaccia significativa per gli interessi nazionali" - commenta 'Un ponte per...' che da tempo segue la vicenda a fianco dei sindacalisti locali e chiedendo all'Eni di non partecipare alla "svendita" del petrolio iracheno. Nei giorni scorsi il governo iracheno ha ordinato di considerare illegali le organizzazioni sindacali del settore e qualunque organismo che ad esse faccia riferimento.
