30.06.2005 Dans le cadre de la XXXVe Assemblée générale de l’Organisation des États américains (OEA), qui a commencé aujourd’hui à Ft. Lauderdale, aux États-Unis, la Coalition internationale des organisations pour les droits humains dans les Amériques a adressé aux pays membres de l’OEA une série de recommandations sur des questions prioritaires touchant les droits humains. Dans la déclaration qu’elle a émise, la Coalition a signalé que la faiblesse des institutions démocratiques ainsi que l’exclusion et les inégalités sociales contribuent grandement à la fragilité de la démocratie dans les Amériques.

30.06.2005 La Coalizione italiana contro la povertà, che raccoglie circa sessanta associazioni della società civile italiana ha ricordato al Governo italiano, a sei giorni dal G8, gli impegni assunti (e in gran parte disattesi) per il raggiungimento degli Obiettivi del Millennio stabiliti nel 2000 in sede Onu per combattere la povertà e l’ingiustizia. Su questo tema la Coalizione ha presentato due documenti di approfondimento e di proposte. All’incontro hanno partecipato, tra gli altri, Jovanotti e Antonello Venditti, due tra gli artisti italiani che parteciperanno al concerto del Live8 del 2 luglio a Roma. Il 1 luglio sarà la giornata mondiale di richiamo sui temi del G8, con l'esposizione della “white band”, una striscia di stoffa con la scritta “Stop alla povertà” prodotta in Italia in un milione di pezzi dalla città di Prato.

30.06.2005 In advance of the G8 summit, trade union leaders representing workers from 150 countries met with Tony Blair Wednesday, highlighting that fair and sustainable work worldwide is a critical element in the campaign to end poverty and calling on G8 leaders to take more decisive steps on poverty, environmental issues, and HIV/AIDS.

Domani si tiene a Roma la conferenza in cui verrà presentata la posizione della Coalizione italiana contro la povertà rispetto al G8 e l’impegno a sollecitare il nostro Governo a rispettare gli impegni a favore degli Obiettivi del Millennio, sottoscritti nel 2000.

27.06.2005 Selon de nouvelles recherches dont les résultats sont publiés ce mercredi 22 juin 2005, en exportant des armes de manière irresponsable dans certains des pays les plus pauvres et les plus touchés par la guerre, les États du G8 ne tiennent pas leurs engagements de réduire la pauvreté, de ramener la stabilité et de faire respecter les droits humains. Des armes ont ainsi été exportées dans des pays comme la Colombie, le Myanmar (ex-Birmanie), les Philippines, la République du Congo et le Soudan.

27.06.2005 As people around Canada and the world join the call to action against poverty, the 4th annual report on civil society engagement with the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) has been released. Entitled, "WE the Peoples 2005- Mobilizing for Change: Messages from Civil Society," the report gathers information from civil society organizations around the globe -- their opinions, priorities and actions -- relative to the implementation of the MDGs and the Millennium Declaration.
