In commemoration of Universal Childrens Day, some 120 young people from different ethnic groups visited Albanian Mosques and Serbian Orthodox Monasteries, as part of an awareness raising activity promoting respect for religious sites among the youth in Kosovo. Rick Spruyt reports for World Vision from Kosovo.

"Più strumenti civili di promozione della pace e gestione dei conflitti per l'Italia": è questa la richiesta delle numerose associazioni che hanno promosso il seminario sui "corpi civili di pace" tenutosi all'interno degli Stati generali della cooperazione e solidarietà conclusi nei giorni scorsi a Roma. "Nel dibattito italiano di questi mesi sul come intervenire nei conflitti internazionali c'è un grande assente: la gestione civile dei conflitti" - denunciano i promotori che ribascono: "Non si tratta di una trovata utopica, ma di una serie di misure che, ad esempio, l'UE ha intrapreso dal 2000 e che ha portato il Consiglio Europeo a darsi lo scorso anno un percorso per il potenziamento delle capacità civili di intervento nelle crisi per il 2008, che prevede tra l'altro Corpi Civili di Risposta Rapida (Civilian Response Teams). Anche a livello nazionale altri paesi europei stanno decisamente imboccando questa strada, come la Germania con il suo Piano per la Prevenzione dei conflitti armati".

Päätökset on kuitenkin jo tehty Libanonin ja Itä-Timorin lisäjoukoista, jotka nostavat pääluvun 112 000:een. Jos vastaan pullikoiva Sudan saadaan ottamaan sinibaretit Darfurin kriisialueelle, kokonaismäärä voi saavuttaa ensi vuonna 140 000.

Based on the observation that in post-conflict countries the attention is usually paid to violations of human rights rather than to needs of victims, the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ), a New York City based NGO committed to assisting countries where human rights are severely jeopardized, recently launched The Handbook of Reparations that has the unique approach to the question of justice.

Polazeći od zapaanja da se u post-konfliktnim drutvima predstavnici vlasti obično vie bave prekriocima ljudskih prava nego potrebama onih nad kojima su nepravilnosti počinjene, Medjunarodni centar za tranzicionu pravdu (International Center for Transitional Justice), nevladina organizacija sa seditem u Njujorku fokusirana na pruanje pomoći dravama u kojima se dogodila značajna zloupotreba ljudskih prava, nedavno je promovisala obimnu studiju pod nazivom Prirucnik o reparacijama sa namerom da pitanje pravde artikulie na novi način.

Kongon demokraattisen tasavallan sunnuntaiset vaalit sujuivat rauhallisesti. Siitä pohjoiseen sijaitsevien kolmen valtion, Keski-Afrikan tasavallan, Sudanin ja Tsadin, alueet ovat kuitenkin konfliktin vallassa. Ainakin osasyynä tähän on Sudanin Darfurin alueen tilanteen heijastuminen naapurimaihin.
