30.04.2007 Garantisce le imprese italiane all’estero. L’unico azionista è il ministero del Tesoro che incassa ricchi dividendi. Ma, nel tempo, è stata una macchina terribile nel produrre l’indebitamento dei paesi in via di sviluppo. Le sue operazioni sono avvolte nel silenzio. Soprattutto quelle legate al commercio delle armi. È uno dei salotti bene dell’economia italiana. Conosciuto da pochi. Dove si elogia il silenzio. E si coccola la riservatezza. Ambito dalla grande imprenditoria e dalle banche, perché in un angolo della sua sala è custodito un forziere, ricco di “dobloni”. Ma anche l’affamata politica, che nel tempo si è pure abbuffata al suo tavolo, ignora spesso che cosa si muova, carsicamente, nelle stanze di comando di quel fortino. Di ufficiale si sa che è (stato), insieme ai suoi simili occidentali, uno dei più potenti strumenti di indebitamento dei paesi poveri. 23.04.2007 "L'articolo del Corriere della Sera di oggi, lunedì 23 aprile, titolato "Il mediatore di Emergency rischia il patibolo" a firma di Fiorenza Sarzanini è soltanto un centone di parole già dette e già note" - afferma un comunicato di Emergency. Ma l'associazione di Gino Strada sottolinea anche che "di fronte a questo ulteriore elemento di valutazione, è inconcepibile che il governo italiano prosegua nel suo sostanziale disinteresse. Non ha valore di argomento la ripetuta dichiarazione di esponenti del governo italiano, secondo la quale non sarebbe possibile intervenire in questo caso trattandosi di un cittadino afgano detenuto dalle autorità del suo paese. Erano cittadini afgani detenuti dalle autorità del loro paese anche cinque prigionieri dei quali il governo italiano si è molto attivamente e insistentemente interessato tra il 16 e il 18 marzo, ottenendone la liberazione".

20.04.2007 KRITI: a development research, praxis and communication team will be releasing a Hindi version of their publication From Thought to Action: Strategies to combat Violence against Women, entitled Aurato ke Khilaf Hinsa: Dhrishtikon aur Rannitiyan at the Amphitheatre, India Habitat Centre, on the 4th of May 2007 from 6.30 pm onwards. The book shares findings from an in-depth field-based study and suggests possible interventions.
