30.08.2007 The killing of two Indonesian domestic workers by their employers in Saudi Arabia highlights the Saudi government’s ongoing failure to hold employers accountable for serious abuses. The brutal beatings by these employers also left two other Indonesian domestic workers critically injured.

20.08.2007 Se fosse avvenuta una tragedia simile ad una famiglia livornese, mettiamo il caso dei genitori assenti perché occupati a lavorare fuori casa, o perché usciti per fare una veloce spesa al negozio più vicino, o per parlare con dei vicini con i bambini lasciati soli in casa davanti alla TV, e durante la loro assenza fosse scoppiato per una qualsiasi fatalità un incendio che avesse provocato la morte dei bambini, ebbene come avremmo reagito se un P.M. avesse deciso di arrestare quei genitori con l’accusa di abbandono, condotti in carcere, messi in isolamento per una intera settimana, perché: “I bambini erano stati lasciati soli e con molta probabilità con il forno della cucina acceso…che per cause ancora da chiarire ha provocato l’incendio, quindi sui genitori pesano delle gravi responsabilità, perché al momento del rogo questi non sono intervenuti per tentare di mettere in salvo la vita dei loro figli, perché assenti”?
