A recent G8 Finance Ministers Meeting held in Potsdam, Germany, overlooked their failure to deliver the promised aid of US$ 50 billion a year to Africa. Oxfam International’s research on current trends of G8 reveals that it had defaulted on its earlier aid commitments made in 2005.

The government has received more than 75 percent of foreign aid out of the Rs.100 billion anticipated for the year 2007 with the signing of agreements to receive Rs.72 billion within the first four months of the year.
