21.09.2007 Con il pagamento dei 260 milioni di euro di cui era debitore il governo italiano ha finalmente concluso il processo di versamento del proprio contributo al Fondo Globale per la Lotta all’Aids, Tubercolosi e Malaria (Gfatm) per il biennio 2006-2007. "Finalmente un passo determinante per l’impegno italiano nella lotta all’Aids, ma adesso è necessario che l’Italia dimostri coraggio e raddoppi il suo contributo" - commenta ActionAid che ha lanciato nei mesi scorsi la campagna "No Poverty No Aids". Il presidente del Consiglio, Romano Prodi, si era ripetutamente impegnato a portare a termine il pagamento da parte del governo, ma solo col decreto extragettito approvato a fine giugno scorso erano stati stanziati i 260 milioni di euro richiesti.
